Thiruvallur District is about 10 km southwest of Bundi. Far away is Parikulam. The laterite gravel deposit, found in the south, dates back to the Pleistocene about 500,000 years ago. There are four types of layers. They are - Detrital Laterite Deposit
Laterite Mixed with Pebble
Laterite Mixed with Boulders
Sriperumbudur or Avadi Shale.

These four forms were clearly visible in the soil.

In the excavation of Parikulam, two types of old stone tools have been found. They belong to the Abyvillian - Achulian culture. In the excavations carried out in the area of ​​Parikulam, there was a factory which was preparing the tools. These are said to be over two hundred thousand years old. The horse's teeth have been found in the Parikulam excavation. This is significant. The horse is supposed to be one of the animals here.
Parikulam excavation was carried out by the Government of Tamil Nadu Archeology Department in 2005-2006. Archaeologist Shanthippupu dates back to the old age of 5 lakhs years ago.


In the excavation of Parikulam, two types of old stone tools have been found. They belong to the Abyvillian - Achulian culture. And the Abyvillian hand ax. Abbeville (a) Abbevillean, in the Somme in France area of ​​France, is called by name. From a technical standpoint, most of these chips are deeply unpacked and overworked. The Achulian arm ax is also known by the name of the place. Of these, there is an abundance of chips and workshops. They have a beautiful leaf shape.

In France, in the Acheul area of ​​the Somme valley, the cedars were discovered. In 1836, Boucher was discovered. A total of 243 quarries were collected during the excavation. They are listed by classification. In the upper part of the cavity there is a longitudinal stenosis of the membrane. The excavations, excavated here, are of historical significance.

These have been analyzed in detail and a list of technical details has been prepared. Hand Axe, Cordate Hand Axe, Triangular Hand Axe, Cleavers, Scrappers, Small Choppers, Spikes (A) Various types of instruments such as Points, Ovate and Stone Hammer have been studied. The area must have been an old-fashioned factory site because of the large number of chips being transplanted into coal.
